Nineteen Eighty Seven is a completly new recording of the original Whitecross Self-titled debut. Screaming hot guitar solos, Ratt-like vocals, and massive hooks and choruses, this album showcases everything that was amazing about 80's metal. Melodic metal does not get any better than this.

In 1987 Whitecross took the Christian Metal Scene by storm, delivering what would soon become one of the most talked about and highly collectible recordings in the Christian metal market. Scott Wenzel and Rex Carroll created a duo like few before them, breaking ground in the Christian metal scene that opened up the door for a flurry of bands. Often compared to the secular mainstream band RATT, Scott’s vocals were new and fresh in Christian music, and Rex’s blazing guitar work put Whitecross on the map for good. Whitecross continued through out the 80’s and 90’s making music and releasing some 12 recordings with drummer Mike Feighan, as well as many other musicians. Now Rex, Scott and Mike would like to take you back to a time when Metal still reigned. Whitecross Nineteen Eighty Seven is a completely new recording of the original Self-Titled Whitecross, but bigger, louder and better than ever.

The newly re-recorded Cd includes all songs from the original CD except for "You're Mine".

It also includes 2 bonus tracks, "LOVE ON THE LINE" from the LOVE ON THE LINE 6.98 EP, never before released on CD, as well as a new guitar solo/song, "Re:Animate" by Rex Carroll.

Both are new recordings and never before released on CD.The first 2000 copy pressing will include 4 ADDITIONAL TRACKS AND OUT-TAKES FROM THE STUDIO RECORDINGS, which will be a great surprise for fans. The CD contains 8 panel 4/1 fold-out with photos, thank yous, and insight into the Cd.

This CD according to Rex Carroll, producer, is louder and better than ever. "Mike Feighans drums are thundering and Scotts vocal are solid. It's the way it was always meant to be", said Rex.

Whitecross was formed in 1986 by Rex Carroll and Scott Wenzel. Whitecross release their debut self-titled CD "Whitecross" on Pure Metal in 1987. Songs like Enough is Enough, Who Will You Follow, and the popular Nagasaki guitar solo by Rex Carroll would bring life to the fast growing scene of Christian Rock and Christian Heavy Metal. Whitecross with is ripping guitar work and solid vocals was often compared to the popular main-stream group RATT.

Whitecross followed their debut recording with Whitecross-The $6.98 EP-Love on the Line in 1988, Whitecross-Hammer & Nail in 1988 and Whitecross-Triumphant Return in 1989. Star Song bought the Pure Metal label and the duo of Scott Wenzel and Rex Carroll would create two more albums together. White Cross-In the Kingdom in 1991 and White Cross-High Gear in 1992. The Dove Award winning Whitecross who travel with notable groups such as Stryper, Steve Taylor and others would never be the same again. Rex Carroll the guitar mastermind, songwriter and producer behind the band Whitecross would leave in 1992 to pursue a solo album entitled Rex Carroll-The Session. Rex also went on to form the band King James with front man Jimi Bennett and 2 former members of Stryper, Tim Gaines and Robert Sweet. Scott went on to make a solo album as well as other other Whitecross albums, Unveiled, Equilibrium, FlyTrap, One More Encore.
