More of the same as was featured on their debut, just not quite as consistent and strong as the first time around, perhaps. Strong shades of early Fates Warning and Queensryche, with updated distortion and production. Opening track "Sanctuary" is total rip & flow, and while other tracks are certainly good, none match up to the first one. All of "The Warning," "Black Souls," and the title song are good, and disc-closer "Critical Mass" is a solid Maiden-flavored cut. Fans of the genre and the aforementioned groups will continue to enjoy Jacobs Dream's work.
